Student Union of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT Student Union) is an organization composed of undergraduate students of Harbin Institute of Technology. As the highest students' organization, It assumes the following responsibilities and fundamental missions:

    HIT Student Union constructs solidarity of the undergraduates to achieve the aim of the university, that is 'constructing the world class university'.

 

    HIT Student Union is a tie linking all the departments and the students in the university. It takes the responsibility to protect the rights and interests of all the students in HIT.

 

    It advocates the concept of self--education, self--management and self—service in the way of organizing students' extra-curricular activities.

 

    Besides, the aims of HIT Student Union include strengthening the connection with other universities and colleges throughout P.R. China and the solidarity of Chinese people and the development of Chinese integration process.

 

 

    The Postgraduate Union of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) is an official representative of graduates under the leadership of HIT committee of CPC. It is a member of both Heilongjiang and China Studentsâ€?Union.

    As an effective voice for the graduates ,It coordinate the relation between graduates and the Postgraduate School and Harbin Institute of Technology as a whole, the mission of the Postgraduate Union is to promote and foster the self-development of all graduates in HIT. All members of the Postgraduate Union strive to create a favorable academic atmosphere, enrich extracurricular life, and facilitate interaction among students, Faculty staff, alumni and some corporations and social groups inside and outside HIT. The Postgraduate Union is committed to provide graduates with the capabilities needed for success in their future career.

    The Postgraduate Union supports various cultural and social practice activities to develop a sense of solidarity among students and  their manipulative ability. Such as: regular academic lectures, sports and art activities, activity volunteers, and a variety of competitions.

    The Postgraduate Union consists of an executive board in which one President and eight Vice-presidents work together, and eight sections led by the eight VPs. The eight sections are: general affairs section, external affairs section, social practice section, publicity section, sports and art section, student-school connection section, academic section and second-campus section.

    Students Association of Science and Technology （SASTï¼?was founded in 1993. After its development of over ten years, more and more students have joined in SAST, and It gradually becomes a students' academic organization, in which doctoral students  are the leaders, post-graduates are the backbones, and the under-graduates are its basis.

 

    SAST organizes a lot of scientific and original activities every semester in order to encourage young students' love of science and searching for truth.

 

    201-Studio is a students' organization founded in 1995, 201-Studio is dedicated to lectures and forums of high levels and a better cultural environment for study.

    More than 600 lectures or forums covering technology, economy, culture, politics, history, fashionable activities and have been successfully given by the studio in the past 12 years. 201-Studio is building a bridge between celebrities and the campus. Through the studio, opportunities are shown in front of the students for them to learn the outside world.

    To students, 201 studio is efficient, practical, united and cooperative. Our aim is to build a world class forum in a world class university. We hope 201-Studio will show its vigor and vitality in the new era.

    The Green Union of HIT was founded on March 23rd, 1997 by some students who were concerned about the environment. Nowadays, it has become the most influential association in Harbin. All the members of the Green Union believe that if we now try to protect the environment, we will get more from it.

    The Green Union has been one of the best 10 associations in HIT for the past 7 years. In 2001, the Green Union was nominated for the Chinese Environmental Protection highest awards -- the Earth Award. The Union is the only representative of E-P groups of Heilongjiang associations. In 2003, for a national project, it was invited by the Green Camp of Universities. The development of our association has entered a new stage! We cooperated with the WWF to carry out the 'wetland emissaries' actionâ€?in Heilongjiang. In the same year, we gained the highest honor --- the 'Best National Societies pacesetter'. In the year of 2006, we launched the first session of “Summer Korqin Volunteer Servicesâ€?for two weeks... 

   The CPI Association of HIT was established in May, 1995, which is the earliest large association in HIT. 'CPI' means 'Creation, Practice, and Independence'. It is founded by Recruiting and Employing Office of HIT. We have dedicated ourselves to work for all of the students in HIT, especially the graduates. In the spring of 2004, we held the first simulated recruitment in the campus successfully. Since then CPI was known to graduates.

    From 1998, the CPI Association started to organize recruitment with the Employing Center of HIT. With the great efforts of all the CPI members, the recruitment becomes more and more influential. In the year 05-06, we had four recruitments activities in the campus. More than one thousand companies took part in it. We also hold many open interviews in HIT. We have had cooperated with many enterprises,such as GE, Microsoft, Honda, Toyota, P&G, Panasonic, Samsung, IBM, BENQ, Unilever, Lenovo, Kingsoft, Tencent and so on. We also have great cooperative relationships with many websites.

    E-Club is built on April 2005. It is a student academic organization of Harbin Institute of Technology (H.I.T).

    E-Club is led by the Postgraduate Research Institute of H.I.T. The aim of E-Club is to invent school-wide English atmosphere, to improve students' oral English, communication skills and to enrich English knowledge through colorful activities.

    Though E-Club is a new organization, it has a group of members who are full of passion and enthusiasm. E-Club has organized a lot of activities to enhance the English atmosphere in H.I.T. Up till now, we have three regular activities. Weekend theater whose aim is to develop students' interests in English and make them familiar with English. The guests, sometimes foreign teachers or students coming from H.I.T, will make a short introduction of the film before it plays. Another activity is English Party. It provides an indoor place with pure English communication environment. Participators can practice their oral English and communication skills in this activity. The third regular activity is special lectures. From time to time, we will hold special lectures on foreign cultures, the preparation of G.R.E, TOEFL or the entrance examination of postgraduate, etc, which are all hot focuses among university students. What's more, E-Club has planned to cooperate with School of Foreign Language of H.I.T and other English organizations to push forward a series of activities.

    What E-Club members have is the passion and enthusiasm on improving students' level and interests of English. Welcome to join us!

   Set up in 2003, Evergreen Bine Youth Volunteer Union set 'devotion, friendship, fraternity and improvement' as its motto and 'Light up youth with your act' as its slogan.The union has shown great influence in HIT through volunteers' hard work. And, holding that youth should go into society and serve the common people, the Union has cooperated with both Heilongjiang Red cross and the League of the Handicapped.

    The union will put the volunteer spirit into practice and do our best to serve the public. The Union also hope to set up a healthy image of contemporary college students as well. The union is going to hold volunteer activities in four aspects: serving the students, supporting education, helping the disabled and old people, and protecting the environment. Besides, The Union will encourage students and others to take active part in volunteer work, for a world of love and affection.

    Out of the annal students activities is named as 'let love be there'. In this activity, students donate their books and other stuff to others in need. Another activity for orientation at the beginning of each school year is called' little Red Hat'.

    The team of hand language has been playing an active role in helping the handicapped and old people for years. Meanwhile, 'building dreams' was to help handicapped sportsman of the 2008 Olympic Games.

    A donation aiming at caring peasants and creating a harmonious society was held by our union and the Red Cross Union of the province.

    A program which was held together with GuoQing Primary School is to help the pupils learn more about technological knowledge.

    The Zhao-Xi consortium established in the November of 2005 is an association for the ideas of 'freedom, independence, and tolerance'.

    The motto of the association is 'independence, freedom, and tolerance 'the three qualities thought to be important to personality. Independence makes people never surrender to any authorities, and insist on the things he thinks are right. The association believes that insistence gives birth to truth. Freedom guarantees that everybody's intelligence and ability be released to the greatest extent, only by which the garden of our thought would allow hundreds of flowers to blossom. Tolerance makes us to open to different opinions with seriousness and modesty. The consortion also say no to any case while allowing those right yet weak thoughts grow healthily and strongly.

    The main activities of the consortion are academic lectures, movies, forums, etc.

    EA-HIT (Electronic Association of Harbin Institute of Technology) was found in 1994. Its predecessor is EA of Computer College and Electrical Engineering and Automation College. Anyone who is interested in science can join EA. Here the members will learn a lot of new electronic knowledge in designing, making or repairing some electronic device. During this process, the members' electronic skills and hand-on abilities will gain great improvement. What’s more, lots of them will be able to take part in contests of national level. In fact, some of us have got many prizes till now.

    The slogan for EA is 'Learn seriously, Live substantially'.

    The Students' Association of Law at HIT (SAL) , was established on April 2^nd, 2004 with 178 members in total. There're 6 departments in SAL, the organization department, the publicity department, the network department, the outside allied department, the Ministry of Finance and the plan department. SAL takes 'universalize legal knowledge, publicize legal culture' as principle. SAL has obtained many remarkable achievements, and received good reputation from its fruitful work.

    SAL organizes interesting activities. Legal debate aims at helping students learn necessary legal knowledge and professional abilities. Social practice increases the law students' theoretical level and their ability of participating community law practice, and it also provides a chance for college students to communicate with the grass-roots units. The law publicize day teaches the students to build the concept of legality, and protect their own rights.Meantime, SAL undertakes all the lectures given by noted legal scholars, which is held by the School of Law at HIT, enriches the students study life.

   The association is consisted of 6 departments, the Presidium, contacting, technical, promoting and internet department, each with 5-7 staffs and two ministers.

    In the first half year, we organized two contests, 'king of chess contest' and' students and teachers friendship match'.

    Till 2007 we have organized 11 terms of 'king of chess contest' and 6 terms' students and teachers friendship match'.

    In 2005, we won championship in the 'zhongbei' college students' I-go league matches of Heilongjiang province. As a result, we were chosen to represent Heilongjiang Province in the National Contest of Chess for College.

    We plan to organize more activities for the students and stuff. We have full confidence to promote our job and achieve further success.

    Tianya Reading Club was founded on Dec. 5^th, 2006. It is subordinated to the CYL Committee of HIT, with student pioneers being its members. As the first reading club of HIT, Tianya is determined to improve the reading and cultural atmosphere of our school, enrich campus life, and serve the mass students.

    Tianya has organized a series of activities. A party for book friends is held every other week, a platform to make friends and exchange ideas. The party consists of three parts: Literature in Life, Politic and Economy Saloon, Knight-errant Stories. There is different subjects for each part every time. Members are encouraged to speak freely and exchange books. At the beginning of this semester, Tianya has three training programs for its members. For World Reading Day and the idea of enjoying reading, Tianya launched a large-scale activity of book-exchanging on Campus Two on Apr. 23^rd, 24^th and 25^th. We aimed at satisfying our fellow studentsâ€?demands for good books and maximizing the sharing and utilization of our resources.

    In Tianya Reading Club, all the members are able to gain knowledge, friendship and horizons of view. Let's enjoy reading. Let's take this opportunity to perfect ourselves.

    Microsoft Technology Club of HIT was founded on June 26^th, 2001. It is the only technological kind club in the northeastern area of China.

    MSTC is a non-profitable student organization, with the aim of satisfying college students' needs for information .It consists of a group of students whose preference lies in technology as well as management.

    We take the credit of learning first-class technology, enlarging horizon of view, experiencing multi-culture and shaping elites out of commons. We consider it as a lofty goal to build up a stage for more interaction and communication, and show a colorful picture of the Microsoft Research Asia. Inspiringly, we gratefully witness the progress our members have already made.

    Entitled with 'Best Ten Associations', we are bestowed more motivation and inspiration .We now hold a wish to serve the faculty and become the best club throughout the country.

    Hit-Crew was founded in 2000.Hit-Crew has once taken part in Backstreet Dancing Defiant Competition on behalf of HIT, and won the third place. Our crew is also playing an active part in some other important competitions in our province. During these years, we have held many dancing parties in our school, with crews from other colleges. We also make the activities held in our school be our show time. In a word, we have been making our greatest effort to enrich the entertainment of the students of HIT.

    HITARC —Harbin Institute of Technology Amateur Radio Club is one of the most active clubs in Chinese universities. It was founded on Dec. 8th, 1995 by 4 students of HIT who enjoyed this special hobby. They set up a two-day special station 'BT75HIT' in June 1995 which was opened for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of HIT. At last they came to the idea of setting up a station for HIT.

    Now, HITARC has been an active student organization in HIT. We have a wide range of interests and activities either of traditional styles (voice & Morse code communications) or follow more advanced fashions (Slow Scan Television, RTTY, data communication, amateur satellite, meteor-scatter communication, electronics, and computer software, even Internet). All of us have the same goal which is to promote the growth and development of Ham radio not only in our campus but also in China, even in the world.

    HITARC is opened to all HIT students who are interested and enthusiastic in Ham radio. You don't need any experience to be a member of HITARC, just a willingness to learn. We cast the greatest emphasis on the idea that technology is fun as well as a valuable profession. You may also find your niche in one of several important administrative positions in HITARC.
