In order to further strengthen the cooperation between China and Ukraine in such fields as frontier exploration, transformation of achievements and talent exchange,and jointly seek new opportunities for scientific and technological cooperation under the“Belt and Road” framework, the 4th China-Ukraine Science and Technology Forum (CUSTF) with the theme of “innovative, cooperation, openness and sharing” was held at activity center in HIT from September 16th to 18th.
Vice Governor of Heilongjiang Province Nie Yunling, Director of the Ukrainian National Research Foundation, Academician of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, Tetiana Prikhna, Executive Chairman of the Ukrainian Federation, Ukrainian Academy of Technical Sciences Kucan Yuri, Chinese Executive Chairman and Vice President of HIT, Guo Bin all attended the opening ceremony of the forum and delivered their speeches. Nie Yunling met with Ukrainian experts in advance of the opening ceremony.
As the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian Academy of Technical Sciences all served as sponsors and HIT as an organizer, this forum was attended by more than 50 Ukrainian academicians, experts from aerospace, materials, electronics, energy and other fields, as well as over 200 experts and scholars from many domestic research institutions and universities. After the opening ceremony, academicians and experts from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Academy of Technical Sciences, and the Kharkov State University of Ukraine made special reports respectively for the conference.
The conference also established various parallel sessions covering aerospace technology, ship, ocean and energy power, basic scientific research, life sciences, materials science, electrical and electronic information engineering and so on. During the three-day forum, experts and scholars from China and Ukraine have conducted in-depth exchanges on science and technology frontiers, innovation and development as well as docking cooperation in aerospace, materials science, mechanical engineering, new energy, electronic information and other the-state-of-art fields through panels so as to write a new chapter in the development of China-Ukraine science and technology cooperation.
The China-Ukraine Science and Technology Forum (CUSTF) was established in June 2015 and has been successfully held for three consecutive sessions. It has built an open platform for Chinese and Ukrainian scientists where academic exchange serves as a carrier, technical talents could communicate with each other and seek precise cooperation in science and technology. It has efficient effect on the performance of the project as well as the friendship between peoples from two countries.
Zhang Changbin, director of the Provincial Science and Technology Department in Heilongjiang Province, and He Yanchun, deputy director of the Provincial People's Department in Heilongjiang Province, attended the opening ceremony of the conference. The meeting was hosted by the Chinese Executive Chairman of the General Assembly and Professor Qiu Jinghui, a foreign academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Technical Sciences.
