HIT students won 3 first prizes in the National University Bio-networking Design Competition

HIT News (Ji Xuan Text/ Picture), on September 15th and 16th, the final of the 2018 National University Bio-networking Design Competition (TI Cup) came to an end in Wuxi. The three teams guided by Nie Lanshun, Qu Mingcheng, and Wu Xianghu, teachers of the School of Computer Science, and the team directed by He Shengyang, teacher of the School of Telecommunications, entered the finals and won three first prizes and one second prize.

The competition also established eight “Corporate Innovation Awards”. Our teams’ standout performance from the School of Computing, “The UAV Inspection System for Photovoltaic Power Plants”, won the “Google Innovation Award”, and the outstanding work of the team from the School of Telecommunications, “Intelligent Pharmacy”, won the “New World Innovation Award”.

The National University Bio-networking Design Competition is sponsored by the Computer-based Professional Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. It is the only national Bio-networking competition for college students with the goal of promoting professional development and cultivating college students' innovative ability. There were more than 500 universities in the competition, and nearly 9,000 students and teachers from 2,000 teams participated. In 2017 and 2018, the School of Computer Science of HIT successfully hosted the competition for the Northeast Division of the event.
