HIT achieved great success at the 11th National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Annual Conference: the number of awards ranked first amongst the participating national universities.

HIT News (Wan Xiaoyang Text / Picture) From October 13th to 14th, the 11th National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Annual Conference was hosted by the Ministry of Education in Xiamen. Five of the six works that were carefully selected by HIT were selected for the finals of the annual conference, and finally won one "Excellent Thesis" award, one "Best Creative Project" award, and two "My Favorite Project" awards. HIT’s total number of awards ranked first amongst the participating national universities. Moreover, the work that was recognized as the “Excellent Thesis” was selected by the expert group of the “National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program” as one of the five conference reports, which was the first time for our school to be selected for this honor.

The four award-winning works are: "The Electrochemical Synthesis of H2O2 and Its Application in Degradation of Organic Matter", written by Ding Yani from the School of Energy Resources and directed by professor Gao Jihui, which won “Excellent Thesis”; "Design and Construction of Cold Region Rural Elderly Cooperative Day Care Module", completed by Li Shuqi and directed by vice professor Liu Ying, which won both the "Best Creative Project" and "My Favorite Project"; "Puppydome: Puppy Housekeeping Smart Home Service System", completed by Bai Lu from school of Mechanical Engineering and directed by senior engineer Wang Binsheng, which won the award of "My Favorite Project".

Sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the “National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Annual Conference” is an academic seminar and exhibition for undergraduates with a broad academic scope and comprehensive influence dependent on the national “College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program”. This year’s annual conference received 392 academic papers and 441 innovation and entrepreneurship projects recommended by 275 colleges and universities. After the initial evaluation of the network and the review of the expert group of the conference, 176 academic papers and 218 innovation and entrepreneurship exhibition projects from 225 colleges and universities were shortlisted for the final, and 20 awards of “Excellent Thesis”, “Best Creative Project”, and “My Favorite Project” were finally awarded. 
  Relevant leaders of the Ministry of Education and Fujian Provincial Administration, experts of the "National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program" expert group and cooperative group, relevant responsible persons of local education authorities, and nearly 1,000 representatives of students, professors and entrepreneurs from all over the country attended the conference.
