Harbin Institute of Technology News (Ji Xing Text/Liang Lan Rui Photograph) On the morning of September 25th, the "Most Beautiful Struggle" commendation conference was held in Beijing. 278 individuals and 22 collectives nationwide were awarded the title of "The Most Beautiful Struggler". Academician Liu Yongtan of HIT is on the list.

It is reported that the individuals and collectives commended this time are outstanding representatives of all walks of life and advanced elements in the 70 years since the founding of New China. They are loyal to the Party, serve the motherland, take actions at the grass-roots level, and devote themselves to the people. They have made remarkable achievements in their respective posts and won wide praise from the people. Academician Liu Yongtan is the founder of the new radar theory of sea exploration in China and the leader of the development of remote detection technology for the sea. He won the National Science and Technology Award of 2018 and won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award twice. He led and nurtured an innovative team, which took the lead in the research of new system radar in China. His technological achievements "led" the world and successfully realized the engineering application. He made outstanding contributions to the construction of "Great Wall” of coastal defense in China and played an irreplaceable and powerful role in the defense of the motherland's coastal areas.
