In recent years, China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership has entered a new era, and breakthroughs have been made in cooperation in various fields. Our school has actively involved in extensive exchanges and cooperation with Russian universities. In March 2011, Harbin Institute of Technology and Bauman Moscow State technical University jointly initiated the establishment of the China-Russia Technical University League, which created a precedent for the cooperative league of the universities of China and Russia, and set a good example for the scientific and cultural exchanges between universities of the two countries. In order to further deepen China-Russia strategic cooperation and friendly exchanges in education, and create a new chapter of cooperation and development between universities of China and Russia, the two sides jointly established the Technical Institute of HIT and BMSTU, which marks the cooperation between the two universities has entered a new historical stage.

The Technical Institute of HIT and BMSTU is a public full-time college jointly established by the two sides. At the initial stage of its establishment, it will set up two majors at the undergraduate level: Materials Major and Environmental Engineering Major, and other top-ranking technical majors in Russia will be opened gradually during the operation. Students need to be registered in both universities at the same time. The technical institute adopts the cultivation mode of joint management and co-training by both sides to achieve the sharing of teachers, curriculums, teaching materials, and personnel training programs. At the same time, the joint operation of the technical institute depends on the China-Russia Technical University League. The two sides will jointly recruit top teachers from the cooperative league of China-Russia universities, integrate the high-quality scientific and technological talent resources of the two countries, and innovate the cultivation mode of the ASRTU engineering elite, so as to contribute to the construction of China-Russia joint campus. It will provide strong talent support and think tank guarantee for regional social and economic development, and make greater contributions to further promoting the revitalization of Northeast China and deepening China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation.
