2019/04/22

Initiated by the Organizing Committee of the Advanced Design and Manufacturing Youth Forum, the 5th Youth Forum was held in our stadium from March 29 to 31. This forum was jointly sponsored by the School of Mechatronics Engineering in HIT, the State Key Laboratory of Robotics and System, the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Welding and Joining, and the Key Laboratory of Micro-structures Manufacturing in the Ministry of Education. Vice President LIU Hong addressed the meeting.

Centered on the theme of advanced design and manufacturing, the forum invited more than 70 outstanding young talented individuals in the mechanical field from universities and research institutes such as Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Hunan University, and North University of China. They carried out deep exchanges and discussions on the international academic frontier issues of mechanical fields, the major national needs, and the technical development of the industry, thus providing an academic communication platform for outstanding young scholars majoring in mechanical design and manufacturing to promote cooperation, innovation, and mutual learning. It is known that the Advanced Design and Manufacturing Youth Forum is a national academic conference for outstanding young scholars in the mechanical field. Since the National Natural Science Foundation of China established the Outstanding Youth Science Foundation in 2012, 71 young scholars in the mechanical field have been granted entrance into the program, among which 42 scholars (2 scholars won The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and 1 scholar was granted entrance into the Chang Jiang Scholars Program) attended this forum.

After the forum, the delegates visited the Harbin Institute of Technology Museum and the Center for Aerospace Agency and Control Research.
