(HIT News, Reporter XIAO Ke) Recently, the 2018 MII Scholarship Award announced the recipients of the special award. 4 special prizes were earned by HIT students. CHEN Shulin, a doctoral student of the Materials College, won the special prize of the Innovation Scholarship. Moreover, an entrepreneurship team composed of 12 students including WEI Jin, a master's student of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering College, LI Hongxiang, a doctoral student of the Computer College, and HE Yuchen and ZHANG Yue, undergraduate students of Weihai Campus, won the special prize of the Entrepreneurship Scholarship. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Scholarship was established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2016 for affiliated seven universities. It is divided into two categories: the Innovation Scholarship and the Entrepreneurship Scholarship. Innovation scholarships are awarded to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students who have made outstanding achievements in academic innovation, academic competitions, and scientific and technological inventions, while entrepreneurial scholarships are awarded to those with distinctive performance in self-employment and entrepreneurial practice. This year, a total of 10 special prizes, 60 first prizes, 140 second prizes, and 210 third prizes have been awarded for innovation scholarships, and 10 special prizes, 60 first prizes, and 70 second prizes have been awarded for entrepreneurship scholarships.
