Vice-President Ding Xuemei Leads a Delegation to Attend the China-Australia University Summit on Teaching and Learning 2019

Harbin Institute of Technology News (Wang Lei/Text) On May 17th, the China-Australia University Summit on Teaching and Learning 2019 was held at Shanghai Jiaotong University. Vice President Ding Xuemei led a delegation to the summit and had in-depth exchanges with representatives from China and Australia. 

The theme of the summit was "Evaluation and Guarantee of Higher Education". The leaders, teachers, and teaching administrators from the C9 University Alliance of China and the Group of Eight Australian Universities (Go8) discussed the new trend of quality assurance in higher education, curriculum evaluation and sustainable development, and teaching evaluation. Zhao Yaqin, deputy dean of the undergraduate college and director of the teaching research and quality management department of our university, made a special report on curriculum evaluation and continuous improvement, and gave examples of HIT teachers' practice and experience in ongoing curriculum improvement. Professor Huang Furong of the School of International Studies gave an example of a specific curriculum, sharing how to reform the teaching of the curriculum by means of informationization, and probing into the application of informationization in curriculum evaluation from this perspective. 

The China-Australia University Summit on Teaching and Learning was jointly sponsored by our university and the University of Adelaide in Australia, in the context of the globalization of higher education and teaching. It was a grand gathering for the leaders, teachers, and management personnel of the C9 University Alliance and the Group of Eight Australian Universities to exchange and share their teaching ideas, methods, and management experience. The summit, which has been held five times so far, aims to build a platform for international education cooperation between China and Australia and further promote the expansion of long-term friendly and cooperative relations between universities and relevant institutions in the fields of teaching and personnel training. 

Relevant officers of the Undergraduate College, the International Cooperation Department, the School of Economy and Management, the School of International Studies, and representatives of teachers attended the meeting.
