(HIT News) On September 15th to 18th, The "2019 ASRTU Gathering in Irkutsk" event was held in Irkutsk, Russia. Nearly 100 teachers and students from 24 Sino-Russian universities in the alliance, including HIT, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Chongqing University, Southeast University, South China University of Technology, Moscow Baumann National University of Technology, Irkutsk National University of Technology, Perm University of Technology, Northern (Arctic) Federal University, and Ural Federal University, gathered together to engage in the First International Symposium on ASRTU Green Engineering, the regular work meeting of ASRTU institutions, and the opening day of ASRTU members with the theme of Entering Irkutsk National University of Technology.
The opening ceremony of the "2019 ASRTU Gathering in Irkutsk " was held on Sep.16th at the Irkutsk National University of Technology. Delegates from China and Russia, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches, including Levchenko, Prefect of Irkutsk, Cao Yunlong, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Irkutsk, Kolenyakov, President of Irkutsk National University of Technology, Fan Feng, Chinese Vice-Chief Executive of ASRTU and Assistant to the President of HIT, and Tymofiev, Director of the Russian Permanent Secretariat of ASRTU.
The opening ceremony was followed by the First International Symposium on ASRTU Green Engineering. More than 50 experts and scholars from Chinese and Russian universities attended the meeting. The meeting received nearly 40 summaries for the forum. Scholars from China and Russia discussed many cutting-edge topics, such as geographic information, low-carbon energy utilization and systems, fuel cells, urban energy resource management and sustainable development, scrap metal recovery, medical waste treatment, slag protection and reuse, and economic analysis of waste recovery. Shuai Yong, Dean of the Energy College of HIT, and Feng Yujie, Executive Vice Dean of the Environment College of HIT, delivered keynote speeches on behalf of Chinese universities. Five teachers and students of from HIT made speeches at the round tables of "Waste Treatment and Energy Recovery", "Green Technology and Sustainable City" and "Environmental Management and Production Technology Based on Geo-informatics".
The regular meeting of ASRTU unanimously approved the admission of Heihe University and Tianjin University of Technology in China and Astrakhan State University and Tyumen State University of Technology in Russia to the Union and to officially become observer universities and colleges. Up to now, ASRTU has attracted 67 elite universities from both China and Russia (including 54 formal members and 13 observers).
In order to further strengthen the communication and interaction between teachers and students of China and Russia, and deepen the discussion and cooperation between them in the field of green engineering, attenders from both sides also visited the Mineral Exhibition Hall, School History Hall, and relevant laboratories of Irkutsk State University of Technology which gave them a comprehensive understanding of the history of the school’s development and educational and scientific research level of the university.
Hosted by ASRTU, this event was also co-organized by HIT, Moscow Bauman State Technical University, and Irkutsk National University of Technology. The purpose is to build a high-end cooperation and exchange platform in the field of green engineering, aggregate innovation elements, gather development momentum, give full play to the advantages of relevant fields of each university, provide ASRTU a scheme for promoting ecological civilization construction and accelerating the transformation of green development methods, and contribute to ASRTU strength.
