Academician Liu Yongtan is the founder of the new radar theory of sea exploration in China and the leader of the development of remote detection technology for the sea. He led and nurtured an innovative team, which took the lead in the research of new system radar in China. His technological achievements "led" the world and successfully realized the engineering application. He made outstanding contributions to the construction of "Great Wall” of coastal defense in China and played an irreplaceable and powerful role in the defense of the motherland's coastal areas.
