Recently, the State Post Bureau sent a reply to our school, agreeing to issue stamps commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of Harbin Institute of Technology.

The reply pointed out that the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and the achievements of China's higher education are some of the important topics for stamps. Harbin Institute of Technology, as a national key university, has trained a large number of talented individuals for the Party and the country over the years and has played an important role in the aerospace industry and national economic development. Thus, it agreed to issue a commemorative stamp for the 100th anniversary of the founding of Harbin Institute of Technology. Each set has one stamp, and the date of issue will be June 7, 2020.

On July 30, 2017, HIT signed a memorandum with the Heilongjiang Branch of China Post to reach a preliminary consensus on the issuance of the commemorative stamps.

On November 4, 2019, the State Post Bureau held the 14th Director Meeting, which deliberated and passed the plan for the issue of 2020 commemorative stamps and special stamps, and also published it. It is authorized that in 2020, 27 sets of commemorative and special stamps will be published (14 commemorative stamps and 13 special stamps). Besides our stamps, there are also commemorative stamps for “mascots for the 2020 Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games”, "50th Anniversary of the Successful Launch of China's First Artificial Earth Satellite", "100th Anniversary of the Publication of the complete Chinese version of the Communist Manifesto", and "Completing the process of building a moderately well-off society in all aspects ".
