Recently, the national finals of the "New Man of the Times Says-I Grow Together with My Motherland" Speech Contest came to an end. As the gold medal winner of the "Great Power Heavy Equipment" theme competition, Li Qianru，from the Third Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology stood on the stage of the national finals. Under the title of "Supporting the Chinese Dream with Space Power", she told the story of her youth growing up with her motherland and forging ahead with China's space industry.

Next, let’s learn how Li Qianru grew up seeking the dream of becoming an astronaut with the ideal of serving her country through science and technology. Li Qianru was born into a scientific research family. Her grandpa was one of the first public descendants of New China who stayed in the Soviet Union and was received by Chairman Mao in Moscow. Her grandfather taught her to "practice skills and serve the motherland" from an early age, which also imperceptibly inspired her ideal of becoming a scientist.
In 2009, Li Qianru was admitted to the Institute of Astronautics of Harbin Institute of Technology with excellent results. At the opening ceremony of undergraduates, Academician Liu Yongcai, chief designer of China's land-based cruise missiles, described the magnificent development of the space industry, further strengthening her belief in sincerely serving the country.
When she graduated from university, she gave up the opportunity to study abroad with a full scholarship and resolutely chose to study for a postgraduate in the Third Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology. She said: "The needs of the motherland should be my major." Fortunately, she became a student of Academician Liu Yongcai and has since forged an indissoluble bond with China's space and cruise missiles.

In 2017, Li Qianru entered Zhu Rihe Joint Training Base with the team to carry out the military parade guarantee mission for the 90th anniversary of the founding of the army. She was on standby day and night for 30 days and nights, bathed in the scorching sun, and fought under the high temperature. Finally, the cruise missile under the team's responsibility achieved three rounds of successful flight tests.

At the military parade marking the 70th anniversary of the National Day, China's space equipment was collectively unveiled, making hundreds of millions of Chinese children feel the great leap of the Chinese nation from the beginning of its development, to becoming rich, to becoming strong. What makes Li Qianru proud is that the new cruise missile developed by her team was on display again, which was also the third time that the Chinese cruise missile team has passed Tiananmen Square.

At the speech site of the national finals, facing the audience, she was filled with lofty sentiments: our new generation of astronauts will take the baton from the older generation, let the Chinese dream and the space dream stimulate each other, and forge a national weight that can fly faster, execute more accurately, and have stronger combat effectiveness!
Now, Li Qianru has realized her childhood dream of becoming an engineer of winged missile guidance and control systems, responsible for designing intelligent "brains" for missiles. At the same time, she has joined the Rocket Army Reserve with honor and is always ready to respond to the call of her motherland.

In addition to being an engineer fighting on the space and national defense front, Li Qianru also has two other "shining" identities: one as a host on the literary and artistic stage, and the other as a national first-class basketball referee.
From winning the title of "Top Ten Hosts on Campus", to hosting the local Chinese Spring Festival Gala during the exchange of foreign universities, to concurrently hosting the "Space News" of the Aerospace Science and Technology Group, she has hosted more than 20 large and small activities in the past ten years.

As a basketball referee, she participated in the 1000-day countdown ceremony to the 2019 FIBA World Cup as a representative of Beijing's basketball referees and refereed the "Nike High School Basketball League" held in Beijing.
