Since Announcement No. 1 of the 100th anniversary of HIT was released, enthusiastic attention and full support have been received from leaders at all levels, alumni at home and abroad, all teachers and students, and friends from all walks of life. Herein, on behalf of HIT, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks and high respect.
Until the summer of 2020, HIT has thrived for one hundred years to bring out her best. June 7th is her 100th birthday. It will be an important milestone in the history of HIT, as well as an honourable moment for all HITers. Most importantly, it will be a starting point for HIT to scale new heights as a world-class university. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, adjustments for the anniversary are as follow: Alumni will not return to school on the day of the anniversary, and the activities during the centennial year will be divided into two sections. Firstly, on June 7th, the anniversary day, online activities including “live streaming”, “online homecoming”, “digital tours”, “online interacting”, “online blessing”, and “online lecturing” will be held as an online reunion. Secondly, if the pandemic should be under control by mid-September, alumni would be invited to the campus to attend on site academic and nostalgic activities. For specific information, please pay attention to follow-up announcements.
This epidemic is relentless, but humans are full of love. While fighting against the coronavirus, everyone at HIT bears the university motto firmly in mind, which is "Rigor and Mastery", and acts under the direction of the HIT Spirit by holding our own position while joining hands with one another across the country to defend our homes. Hereon, we sincerely send our best wish to all students, faculty and alumni of HIT.
It has always been our driving power to have your blessing and support, dear alumni. It's true that the pandemic has kept us apart, but there is no way that we will ever lose our bond. We shall meet on June 7th, 2020, and together we will look back on the glorious past and look forward to a bright future!
