HIT Students Gain Achievements in The Eighth National Mathematics Contest for College Students

The eighth National Mathematics Contest for College Students has been held in Beijing from March 18 to 19 with a total of 284 students from over one hundred institutions in 29 divisions participating in the final. After the fierce competition, the students of our school gained many achievements. In the group of non-maths majors, WANG Yaoguang and LI Jialun won the national first prize respectively while MIU Chengzong and YIN Hang won the national second prize respectively; in the group of maths majors, XIE Zehua, a mathematics major student in College of Science, won the national second prize.

The mathematics contest for Chinese college students sponsored by Chinese Mathematical Society (known as “National Mathematics Contest for College Students”) is designed to provide a stage for young students to showcase basic skills and thoughts on mathematics, promoting the reform and development of mathematics curriculum in institutions. A total of 86,946 students took part in the preliminary round of the Contest with 868 students being from our school.
