HIT students won the special prize in the National University Artificial Intelligence Innovation Competition

From July 9 to 12, the National University Artificial Intelligence Innovation Competition (hereinafter referred to as the “Competition”) was held in Chengdu. With the direction of Tu Zhiying, a teacher from the Computer College of our university, Dong Yanchen, Hou Pengyu, and Tan Jian from the Computer College, and Zhu Yeqi from the College of Software engineering formed a team which has won the “first prize” of the final “AI+” social service unit by their competition work entitled “On-line conference solution based on artificial intelligence”.

The competition was directed by the Youth Development Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League. The contest aims to build a good platform for university students' scientific and technological innovation and stimulate their ability. The competition began in May 2019, with 550 entries from 110 universities in China. After the preliminary evaluation, 200 teams were promoted to the finals. There were six competition units in the competition, namely “AI+”intelligent agriculture,“AI+” intelligent manufacturing,“AI+”cultural creativity, “AI+”transportation, “AI+” medical treatment, and“AI+”social services.

The competition works were evaluated in different competition units respectively. Finally, 15 projects were awarded the premium prize and 25 were awarded the first prize in the fields such as agriculture, automation, transportation, advanced manufacturing, and smart homes.
