Students of HIT Won the First Prize in the National Final of the 2nd National College Students Chemical Experiment Innovation Design Competition

Recently, “Weirui Cup”, the 2nd National College Students Chemical Experiment Innovation Design Competition finals sponsored by the Chinese Chemical Society and the National Demonstration Center For Experimental Education was held in Qingdao University of Science and Technology. After preliminary competition in seven regions, including North China, Northeast China, East China, Central China, South China, Southwest China and Northwest China, 90 teams were selected out of more than 800 teams from more than 350 participating universities to enter the national finals. In the finals, the team from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of HIT, composed of two instructors Xiao Xinli and Li Xin and three students Du Haolin, Zhu Wenhui and Huang Hai, was affirmed by the judges for their solid basic skills and excellent defense performance, and finally won the first prize with excellent results.

This competition is held every two years and is the highest level series of chemical discipline competitions in China. The purpose of the competition is to strengthen the basic knowledge, theory and skills of chemistry for college students, improve their ability to find, analyze and solve problems, and cultivate their innovative consciousness and practical ability.
