HIT Ranks First in the National Discipline Competition of Regular Institutions of Higher Learning

On February 22, the “University Competition Evaluation and Management System Research” expert working group, established by the China Association of Higher Education, issued the ranking lists for 2015-2019 and the 2019 National Discipline Competition of Regular Institutions of Higher Learning.HIT won the first place in the2015-2019 rankings with 635 awards and 100 points, and won the first place in the2019 rankings with 298 awards and 100 points.

Since the 2012-2016 ranking list of theNational Discipline Competition of Regular Institutions of Higher Learning was first published in Hangzhou on December 14, 2017, the “University Competition Evaluation and Management System Research” expert working group has published the list for three consecutive years, which has aroused widespread attention in the society. In each of the four consecutive years since the first release,HIT’s ranking has steadilyincreased year by year from the sixth, to the fourth, to the second, and now finallyto the first place.

This round of competition evaluation continues to follow the principles of fairness, justness, openness, guidance, operability, classification, and achievement orientation to rank the competition data from thethree aspects of award-winning contribution, organizational contribution, and research contribution,with adherence to the idea of “quality-oriented and prudent promotion”. The four aspects included within theaward-winning contribution arethe “level of competition program”, the “form of competition program”, the “history of competition program” and the “number of awardsof competition program”. Besides, the four aspects included within theorganizational contribution are “competition secretariat”, “competition organizer”, “excellent organization unit”, and “excellent instructor”. In addition, inthe2015-2019 rankingsand the2019rankings, the new aspect of“research contribution” mainly considers the expansion and extension of discipline competition research, including competition-orientedawards of teaching achievement and educational reform papers for college students.

According to statistics, a total of 1172 undergraduate colleges and universities nationwide have entered the ranking list of the2015-2019 National Discipline Competition of Regular Institutions of Higher Learning (undergraduate). In 2015-2019, HIT ranked first in the ranking list of the Discipline Competition of National “Double First-rate” Universities, the2015-2019Discipline Competition of National Science and Engineering Undergraduate Universities and other classified lists.
