At the invitation of Elizabeth Chu Richter, the president of AIA, Professor MEI Hongyuan, the Design Master of National Engineering Investigation, president of the School of Architecture and the president of the Architecture Design & Research Group attended the Honorary Fellowship granting ceremony held in Atlanta, GA on May 15. MEI was awarded the Honorary Fellowship of AIA.
It is known that four other world architects from Spain, South Africa and Chile were awarded the Honorary Fellowship along with Professor MEI Hongyuan. And Elizabeth Chu Richter presented the medal of Honorary Fellowship to MEI Hongyuan.
AIA is the most authoritative national organization for architects in the United States. And with a history of 158 years, AIA enjoys a great reputation in the world. The Honorary Fellowship is one of the highest honors for professional foreigners who have made great achievements in the field of architecture and have international influence. Koolhaas, Foster, Piano and Kuma were awarded this honor also. MEI Hongyuan is the eighth architect awarded the Honorary Fellowship in China.
