Students at the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) led the country in awards at the Humanoid Robot Division of the 27th China Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition, held recently in Hefei, Anhui province.
HIT teams won five national first prizes, eight second prizes, and one third prize, achieving top honors across all five competition categories.
Award-winning students came from the School of Astronautics, School of Electronics and Information Engineering, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Computing, School of Future Technology, and the Shenzhen Campus.
Founded in 1999, the competition has grown to include over 1,000 universities and more than 460,000 participants nationwide, becoming one of China’s most influential robotics contests. This year, nearly 400 universities and 6,000 students competed, with over 200 teams from more than 100 universities advancing to the national finals.
HIT emphasized organized training and innovation platforms, hosting specialized workshops and exchanges to support student preparation. The university plans to continue utilizing high-level competitions to strengthen its “learn, practice, and create” educational model and encourage students to push the boundaries of technological exploration.
