The 20th Annual Conference of China Electrotechnical Society (ACCES 2025), hosted by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), recently convened in Harbin. The event was organized by the China Electrotechnical Society (CES).
Yang Qingxin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CES, and Chen Rui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of HIT, addressed the opening ceremony with speeches. Over 1,200 representatives from more than 100 universities, research institutions, and industry enterprises nationwide attended the conference, including Zheng Yanjun, Program Director of the Electrical Science and Engineering Discipline at the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and Wen Jinyu, Vice President of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Xu Dianguo, Vice Chairman of CES and Professor at HIT's School of Electrical Engineering and Automation (hereafter "School of Electrical Engineering"), presided over the opening ceremony.

Yang Qingxin stated that the CES Annual Conference has become a key platform for exchanging academic ideas, showcasing innovative achievements, and advancing the development of China's electrical engineering sector. He highlighted HIT's long history and profound foundation in electrical engineering education and research, acknowledging its significant contributions to the field’s progress and the industry's advancement. Yang emphasized that CES will continue to serve as a bridge and resource integration platform, fostering synergistic innovation through industry-academia-research collaboration to provide robust scientific and technological support for building a modern energy system.

Chen Rui noted that the conference closely aligns with national strategic priorities and global technological frontiers. She highlighted the in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics such as building a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system, which will significantly affect the development of China's electrical engineering discipline and the advancement of the "dual carbon" goals. Chen expressed hope for strengthened cooperation with experts and scholars to focus on pressing national needs through collaborative research, aiming for more original breakthroughs "from scratch" and cultivating a new generation of electrical engineering professionals with patriotic commitment, global vision, and exceptional innovation capabilities.

The conference featured a plenary session and 23 parallel sessions covering specialized areas including "Power Systems and Automation," "Power Electronics and Power Conversion," "Electric Motor Systems and Control," and "Intelligent Electrical Apparatus and Electrotechnical Equipment."
Keynote plenary reports were delivered by Zheng Yanjun, Wen Jinyu, Li Yongdong (Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University), Li Shengtao (Director, Advanced Electrotechnical Materials Research Center, Xi'an Jiaotong University), and Ye Xuerong (Dean, School of Electrical Engineering, HIT). These reports provided multi-faceted insights into research hotspots and innovative achievements across various specialized fields. Nie Qiuyue, Party Secretary of HIT’s School of Electrical Engineering, also chaired parts of the conference.
