Lu Lan, a badminton world champion, national level badminton referee, and teacher of the Physical Education Department at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, visited Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) on Oct 18, and shared her journey from failure at the Olympics to winning the championship.
She encouraged the students by saying that an appropriate amount of pressure can drive a person to perform at their best. The key is to learn how to coexist with stress, persevere through difficulties, and grow from challenges.
Students asked questions one by one, and Lu patiently answered their inquiries according to her personal growth experiences. Chen Jin, a professor from HIT’s Physical Education Department and world badminton champion, was also present and interacted with the students, creating a lively and relaxing atmosphere.
After the event, Lu conducted an interactive badminton teaching session for the students in the badminton hall.
