The Future Industry Conference, co-hosted by the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) and Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), was held at HIT from Dec 26 to 27.
Su Bo, vice-chairman of the National Manufacturing Strategy Advisory Committee (NMSAC) and vice-minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, expressed the hope that all sectors can adhere to innovation as a guiding principle to solidify the foundation for development, apply systematic thinking to build an industrial ecosystem, follow demand-driven approaches to strengthen application traction, and embrace open cooperation to expand development space.

Xu Baitao, secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of CCID, stated that the academy will use this conference as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with Harbin and other regions, share research results, build collaboration platforms, and promote industry implementation.

Jiang Jun, vice-mayor of Harbin, expressed hope that the conference will facilitate the joint construction of a collaborative innovation ecosystem among universities, research institutes, and enterprises, expand real-world industrial applications, and build cooperation platforms to drive more innovative achievements in Harbin.

Sun Xue, HIT vice-president, stated that the university hopes to explore the logic of cultivating industrial clusters and nurturing interdisciplinary talents with various sectors. During the opening ceremony, the establishment of the Future Industry 50 People Forum and the inauguration of the Future Industry Department of HIT's School of Management were announced.
The Future Industry 50 People Forum aims to focus on core issues of future industries, build consensus, strategically plan for future industries, explore new economic growth points, gather top forces from government, industry, academia, and research, and create a high-end cross-disciplinary exchange platform. The research group led by Ma Tao, dean of HIT’s School of Management , released the 2025 China Strategic Emerging Industries and Future Industries Development Report.
