Lucas Linnane from the University of Cambridge visited Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), where he gained new insights into winter outdoor sports. He believes that HIT's smart, temperature-controlled clothing can help people better adapt to cold conditions and enjoy winter sports.
During an exchange with students from the University of Macau, Elena Andree from the University of Oxford developed new ideas about the application of technology in sports. They discussed how data technology could be used in the future to help athletes better adapt to the host cities during competitions.
HIT student Bai Gala explored new approaches to promoting winter sports internationally, considering how to better leverage technology to expand participation and overcome limitations related to temperature and geography.
During the "HIT-Cambridge-Oxford Cup" and China-UK Youth Cultural Exchange Week, the China-UK University Youth Forum themed "Winter Sports and Technological Innovation" was held at HIT's international campus. Students from the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, China's C9 League universities, as well as The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the University of Macau listened to keynote speeches and participated in interactive discussions.
Zhang Hong, a member of the International Olympic Committee, director of the HIT Olympic Research Center, and Winter Olympic champion, delivered a keynote speech titled "My Olympic Journey", encouraging the younger generation to pursue their dreams. Professor Zhang Yu from HIT's School of Architecture and Design delivered a keynote address titled "Design and Construction in Extreme Environments from a Sustainable Perspective", inspiring in-depth discussion among international students on urban transformation and the transfer of architectural experience.
