Jiang Hui, secretary-general of the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO), visited the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) along with his delegation on Jan 23. Sun Xue, executive vice-president, met with Jiang Hui and his delegation. HIT Vice-President Shuai Yong also attended the meeting.

Jiang noted that HIT has a profound academic foundation and outstanding research achievements in the aerospace field, making it an important partner for APSCO. In recent years, both parties have achieved success in collaboratively advancing innovative talent cultivation and enhancing space capabilities. Jiang expressed hope of seeing comprehensive and in-depth cooperation by means of establishing a regular communication mechanism, jointly cultivating top-tier innovative talents, and sharing major scientific and technological infrastructure.
Sun said HIT and APSCO share common development goals and broad prospects for cooperation in promoting space technology development, cultivating talents in the space field, and facilitating international exchanges and cooperation. Through this exchange, she said she also hopes to foster a closer cooperative relationship, jointly create a new hub for space education cooperation, build new platforms for research collaboration, and expand new dimensions in talent cultivation and cultural exchange.

During their visit, Jiang and his delegation found time to tour the HIT Museum, the Space Environment Ground Simulation Device, the Wind and Rain Playground, and the HIT warm corridor.
They engaged in lively discussions with international students and faculty from the School of Astronautics and held specialized meetings with relevant departments to prepare for upcoming conferences.
