Shen Yi, vice-president of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), led a delegation to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan from Jan 26 to 30. They visited New Uzbekistan University (NUU) and Razzakov Kyrgyz State Technical University, attended the HIT-NUU Science and Technology Exchange Seminar, and met with Yu Jun, the Chinese ambassador to Uzbekistan, and Sun Dapeng, counselor at the Chinese embassy in Kyrgyzstan.
The delegation engaged in discussions with the host institutions, focusing on joint talent cultivation through the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Doctoral Training Innovation Center to build high-quality cooperation platforms, establish regular exchange mechanisms, and enrich faculty and student exchanges. Shen noted that HIT is willing to further broaden areas of cooperation, deepen collaboration in science and education, and strengthen cross-institutional and interdisciplinary exchanges through existing partnerships.

During talks with Yu and Sun, Shen presented HIT's latest progress and achievements in international exchanges and cooperation. He expressed the hope of expanding joint talent cultivation with universities in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, with support from the embassies. Yu and Sun stated that they would fully leverage their roles as bridges to build cooperation platforms and facilitate communication between HIT and universities in both countries, offering their full support for these collaborative efforts.
