The opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics was held at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy, in the early hours of Feb 7 (Beijing time).
The Chinese sports delegation for the Milan Winter Olympics is the largest ever sent abroad in terms of both the number of events being contested and the number of athletes, with 126 set to compete.
From Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Associate Professor Fan Kexin from the Sports Department, along with doctoral candidates in Mechanics Qi Guangpu, Wang Xindi, Kong Fanyu, and Liu Jiayu from HIT's School of Astronautics, has been selected for the Chinese delegation. They will compete in the short track speed skating, freestyle skiing aerials, and snowboard halfpipe events.
