Meet Jiang Zhengkang, an undergraduate from the School of Future Technology (class of 2024) at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). He achieved a near-perfect GPA, ranking in the top 0.1 percent. He also won first prize in the 16th National Mathematics Competition for College Students by achieving the seventh-highest score nationwide.
Beyond his outstanding academic record, he shines as a dedicated tutor. He is the core lecturer in the Wentian tutorial group. During exam weeks, he organizes daily tutoring sessions, sometimes starting before 8 am and ending after midnight. Now leading the tutorial group, he collaborates with other student societies to organize nearly 100 activities annually, serving over 11,000 students.
At the academic support volunteer selection event, everyone noticed that Jiang was the only candidate who delivered his entire speech without notes. This fluency stemmed precisely from his solid knowledge base.
Jiang explained, Actually, tutoring is also a way for me to review my own work. By helping classmates organize their understanding, I can identify my own weak points and then work on strengthening them.
Looking ahead, inspired by faculty mentors, Jiang said he aims to delve into large language model research, seeking to merge his deep mathematical skills with the nation's strategic focus on artificial intelligence.
