The Department of Industry and Information Technology of Heilongjiang province has announced the 2025 Heilongjiang Provincial Industrial Heritage List. The architectural complex of the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) campus site and related industrial feritage were designated as a provincial industrial heritage.
HIT's architectural complex and related industrial heritage include the original campus site established in 1920, campus sites from the 1950s and 1960s (the Civil Engineering Building, Mechanical Building, Electrical Engineering Building, and Main Building), as well as teaching instruments from the 1930s and 1940s, the Long March-1 rocket, the Dongfeng-2 missile, China's first arc-welding robot, the Report on the Improvement Plan of HIT and its approval record, the approval document for the establishment of China's first School of Aerospace, and a total of 32 core items across five major categories.
