Academician Chen Jie, Party secretary of the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), led a delegation on a visit to Capital Normal University High School on March 19.
During the visit, he delivered a report to high school students and held discussions with school leaders, senior students, and parent representatives, seeking to explore new paths for cultivating top innovative talent and encourage young students.
The report was titled Harbin Institute of Technology Facing the Future, introducing the six emerging pillar industries and six future industries outlined in the country's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30). Chen discussed HIT's alignment with national strategies through the establishment of innovative talent cultivation platforms such as the Aerospace Academy and the Agricultural Artificial Intelligence Academy. He also provided an overview of HIT's proactive planning and layout in key areas, as well as recent progress and achievements in cultivating outstanding talent and developing major national projects, along with HIT's history, strengths, and distinctive features.
Chen expressed hope that both institutions can deepen exchanges and cooperation by focusing on faculty exchanges, curriculum integration, and resource sharing. He emphasized the importance of collaboratively exploring new educational models that connect universities and high schools, as well as promoting the integrated development of education, technology, and talent.

In his speech, Shen Jie, Party secretary of Capital Normal University High School and general president of the Education Group, stated that both institutions have plentiful experience in providing top-notch education, while noting the strong potential for cooperation.
She said she hopes that both schools will actively adapt to the trends of the times and jointly contribute to the nation's development by deepening pragmatic cooperation, sharing quality educational resources, jointly cultivating top innovative talent, and working together to build technology innovation bases.

During discussions with senior students and parents, Chen addressed questions of mutual concern and encouraged students to actively integrate their personal aspirations into the grand blueprint of national development. He urged them to explore the frontiers of science and technology alongside top scholars at HIT and to hone their skills and accelerate their growth through practical service to the country's major strategic needs.
