Richard Delbridge, a fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences from the United Kingdom (UK) and a professor at Cardiff University, has been appointed as a chair professor at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) by Vice-President Liu Jian, who presented him with his appointment letter and university badge.

Liu hoped that this appointment would provide an opportunity to further expand cooperation between HIT and Cardiff University in academic research, personnel exchanges, and talent cultivation, and jointly contribute to educational exchanges and cooperation between the two countries at a higher level.
Delbridge said that this appointment is an honor and a responsibility, and hopes to cooperate with HIT in the ice and snow economy and cold-region economic development, promoting the integration of research and practical application, and creating a new model for educational cooperation between the UK and China.
Delbridge has long been committed to management science and innovation management research, with a focus on regional innovation, industrial policy, and organizational studies. In 2020, he received the British Academy of Management Medal for Leadership, and in 2025 was appointed chair of the Business and Management Sub-panel of the UK's Research Excellence Framework (REF).
Representatives and faculty members from HIT's Personnel Department, International Cooperation Department, and School of Economics and Management also attended the ceremony.
