Supported by the China-SCO Doctoral Student Training Innovation Center, Professor Zhou Weixing and Professor Zhang Haochun from the School of Energy Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), together with eight doctoral students, traveled to Almaty, Kazakhstan for an academic exchange from April 12 to 16.
The delegation attended a roundtable meeting on science and technology exchangebetween HIT and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU). At the opening ceremony for that meeting, Kozhamkulov, chairman of the Kazakhstan Physical Society, and Beisen, dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of KazNU, attended and delivered speeches.
The Kazakh side extended a warm welcome to the HIT delegation and highly praised the potential for cooperation between the two universities in areas of strength such as energy and physics. During the meeting, faculty and students from both universities delivered theme-based academic presentations and conducted in-depth exchanges on the interdisciplinary fields of energy science and physics.
