A delegation led by Nikita Anisimov, rector of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE University), visited Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) on May 18. Han Jiecai, president of HIT, met with Anisimov and the delegation.

Han noted that HSE University has internationally recognized strengths in mathematics, artificial intelligence, economics, and finance, and emphasized that the two universities share closely aligned academic priorities with strong potential for future collaboration. He highlighted HIT's longstanding academic ties with Russian universities and expressed hope that both institutions would build on the momentum of the China-Russia Years of Education by expanding cooperation in student training, faculty and student exchanges, and academic collaboration, while working together to strengthen partnerships between Chinese and Russian universities.
Anisimov said that HSE University values its partnership with HIT and hopes this visit will usher in a new chapter of cooperation between the two institutions. He expressed a strong commitment to expanding academic exchanges, sharing educational expertise and resources, supporting the development of highly qualified students, and achieving more impactful collaborative research outcomes.
