Shi Mainan, deputy director-general of the Department of Foreign Expert Services, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (formerly the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs), led a delegation to Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) on May 21 for a fact-finding visit and to engage in discussions with university representatives.
Also attending the meeting were Geng Junwu, a senior official of the Foreign Expert Services Department; Shi Zhaohui, deputy director of the Department of Science and Technology of Heilongjiang Province; and Liu Ting, vice-president of HIT.

Shi Mainan noted that HIT has a long and distinguished history, internationally recognized strengths in engineering, and a strong track record in international engagement and support for overseas scholars and researchers. She said that the Foreign Expert Services Department would continue to support HIT's international partnerships and exchange programs. She expressed hope that the university would continue to take a leading role in attracting and developing global talent, expanding international collaboration in education and research, and advancing joint innovation, thereby contributing to greater international engagement in higher education.
Liu thanked the Foreign Expert Services Department for its long-standing support of HIT's international exchanges and programs for international scholars and researchers. He said that the university would continue to build on its strengths, further improve support services for overseas experts, and strengthen the effectiveness of its international partnerships and talent programs.
During the visit, Shi Mainan and her delegation toured the International Campus, the State Key Laboratory of Robotics and Systems, and other university facilities to learn more about HIT's academic achievements, research strengths, and campus development.
