Supervisor Introduction
Liu Bingfeng, Vice Dean of the School of Environment at Harbin Institute of Technology, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, recipient of the Outstanding Youth Fund of Heilongjiang Province, "Young Scholar" of Heilongjiang Province, key member of the National Natural Science Foundation of China's innovative research group project "Low-carbon Urban Water Systems ", and core member of the Huang Danian style teacher team in universities across the country. He has hosted over 30 research projects as PI, including 5 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 1 sub-project of the "863" program, 3 sub projects of major national science and technology projects, and the Key Research and Development Program of Heilongjiang Province. Received important awards and honorary titles such as the Second Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award for Higher Education (Graduate), the First Prize of the Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award in Heilongjiang Province, the Second Prize of the Natural Science Award in Heilongjiang Province, and the Youth Environmental Chemistry Award of the Chinese Chemical Society. Published over 200 academic papers indexed in SCI, with an H-factor of 56, and authorized over 20 national invention patents and software copyrights; Authored 1 monograph, co-authored 5 books, and led the formulation of 1 group standard. His current academic appointments include Deputy Director of the Biohydrogen Special Committee of the International Waste Hydrogen Conversion and Utilization Alliance, Council Member of the China Biogas Society, Standing Committee Member of the Science and Technology Committee of the China Urban Water Supply and Drainage Association, Standing Committee Member of the Environmental Emergency Professional Committee of the China Environmental Science Society, and Vice Chairman of the Heilongjiang Environmental Science Society.
The "Green and Low Carbon Ecological Innovation Team" led by Professor Liu Bingfeng consists of nine professors and five associate professors/researchers.. The group adheres to the school motto of "Being strict in qualifications for graduates; making every endeavor in educating students.", insists on the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and has a long-standing commitment to fields such as pollution control, environmental and ecological restoration, environmental emergency response, green energy (hydrogen, alkanes, alcohols) biomanufacturing, polar science, and the R&D of environmental protection equipment. It has made important contributions to water environment protection, ecological environment governance and emergency response, clean energy production, and other fields.
In terms of student development, students guided by the team have won multiple awards such as the "National Scholarship for Graduate Students" (4 recipients), the "Outstanding Talent Scholarship for Young Doctoral Students" from the STGEF Outstanding Young PhD Candidate Scholarship (3 recipients), the Outstanding Student Award from the Zijin Quanxing Environmental Fund of Nanjing University, the Special Prize of the China Microbial Ecology Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award, the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award and Honorable Mention of Harbin Institute of Technology, the Outstanding Master's Dissertation of Heilongjiang Province, and the Outstanding Master's Dissertation of Harbin Institute of Technology; More than 20 national, provincial, and ministerial-level academic and innovation competition awards have been won, including the gold medal in the Heilongjiang division of the China International College Student Innovation Competition, the first prize in the National College Student Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Social Practice and Technology Competition, the first prize in the China Graduate "Dual Carbon" Innovation and Creativity Competition, and the silver medal in the Beijing Enterprises Water Service Cup China International Ecological Environment Innovation Competition; Several students have been awarded honorary titles such as Outstanding Graduate, Outstanding Student, Outstanding Student Cadre, Outstanding Communist Party Member, and Anti epidemic Volunteer Service Award by Harbin Institute of Technology.

Solid waste treatment and resource energy utilization (treatment and resource energy utilization of straw, livestock manure, lithium batteries, etc.; preparation and application of environmental functional materials; anaerobic methane oxidation and utilization; high-value conversion of biomass; low-carbon treatment technology for solid waste; wastewater treatment and resource utilization; biomass energy; preparation and application of new biomass materials)
2. Wastewater treatment and resource utilization (anaerobic methane oxidation and utilization; microbial-driven carbon-nitrogen-sulfur cycles; wastewater biological treatment technology; metabolic pathways and mechanisms of heavy metals in biological treatment of water; low-carbon water environment treatment technology; industrial recalcitrant wastewater treatment; green development and sponge cities)
3. Environmental and Ecological System Governance and Restoration(development and application of environmental biotechnology, preparation and application of biomass new materials, theory and application of microbial physiological ecology, treatment of black and odorous water bodies, restoration of saline alkali soil, accurate quantification of system carbon storage and greenhouse gas emission reduction technology, simulation of watershed hydrology and non-point source pollution processes, ecosystem health diagnosis and AI intelligent decision-making)
4. Environmental behavior and risks of new pollutants (traceability and toxicity impact analysis of environmental microplastics; emission inventory of new pollutants; environmental behavior and enhanced reduction technologies of new pollutants, including sewage treatment systems, current status of antibiotic and resistance gene occurrence in livestock and poultry wastewater, transmission mechanisms, and reduction technologies)
5. Atmospheric pollution and human health (Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and their impacts on human health and environmental risk assessment; atmospheric composite pollution; application of mass spectrometry in clinical laboratory medicine; cross application of environmental health and biomedical fields)
6. Polar ecological environment and climate change (polar ecological environment and climate change, fate of organic pollutants in the ecological environment; qualitative and quantitative analysis of organic pollutants; migration, transformation, and toxicological effects of organic pollutants)
7. Development of environmental protection equipment such as biosensors (microfluidic technology and micro/nano sensing devices, including bacterial/biofilm culture chips, vascular catheter chips, antibacterial drug sensitivity analysis chips, DNA separation and screening chips, etc.); Mechanical sterilization surface nanotechnology and its applications, including sterilization nanomaterials, photothermal and photodynamic sterilization technology, etc
