The closing ceremony of the "International Training Program on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Empowering Sustainable Development: Industrial Application and Technology Transformation" was held at the Shenzhen campus of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT).
Hosted by HIT Business School and responding to a call from the Ministry of Science and Technology of China for training programs for developing countries, the program brought together around 20 participants from Egypt, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Ghana, Russia, and Nepal.
During the 15-day training, participants completed group projects on AI-empowered industrial solutions tailored to their home countries, before presenting their outcomes at the closing ceremony. Professor Zheng Jiali, assistant dean and head of the Department of Future Industries at HIT Business School, addressed the ceremony and issued completion certificates.
The program included lectures by renowned scholars and visits to eight AI-related companies in Shenzhen, including BYD, Mindray, BGI, and others, gaining firsthand insights into China's AI innovation ecosystem.
This program is an important initiative of HIT Business School to expand high-level internationally educational cooperation and build a global industry-academia-research network. HIT will continue to support developing countries in building capacity for AI adoption and sustainable development.
