The final round of the 19th National College Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving and Emission Reduction was recently held under the guidance of the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Department, and the Steering Committee for Guidance in Teaching in Higher Educations Institutions for Energy and Power.
HIT student teams won one grand prize, six first prizes, 10 second prizes, and 17 third prizes in the main track, as well as two gold, one silver, and four bronze awards in the industrial track. HIT also received the outstanding organization award.
The winning teams included students from HIT's School of Astronautics, School of Electronics and Information Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Energy Science and Engineering and School of Mathematics. Other winners came from the School of Physics, School of Management, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Environment, School of Architecture and Design, School of Transportation Science and Engineering, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Division of General Education, and School of Future Technology, as well as students from the Weihai and Shenzhen campuses.
For this year's competition, teams from 707 universities submitted 7,773 entries. Following successive rounds of preliminary review and expert-panel evaluation, 320 teams from 133 universities advanced to the final round. The main track awarded 16 grand, 202 first, 314 second, and 1,470 third prizes, while the industrial track awarded two platinum, 28 gold, 44 silver, and 142 bronze awards.
