Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) hosted the kick-off meeting for a Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) research task on Aug 18. The task focuses on using digital and intelligent technologies to foster new quality productive forces.
The task, titled Innovation Models and Key Tasks for Digital-Intelligence Empowerment of New Quality Productive Forces, is part of the CAE’s science and technology strategic consulting project on examining the development of new quality productive forces during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30).
Academician Li Xiaohong, former president ofthe CAE and head of the project team, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Academician Lu Chunfang, deputy head of the project team, served as head of the expert panel. Academician Chen Jie, vice-president of the CAE, chaired the expert review.
Academician Han Jiecai, president of HIT, delivered a speech. Liu Jian, vice-president of HIT, presided over the meeting and introduced the project's background. Members of the expert panel attended the meeting. Wu Ligang, assistant to the president of HIT, reported on the research on behalf of theresearchtask team.

Experts attending the meeting conducted reviews and discussions on the project research, putting forward a series of opinions and suggestions.

The taskwill include research on the core elements and combination mechanisms of digital-intelligence empowerment, innovation models and breakthroughs in digital-intelligence applications, and key tasks and deployment strategies for digital-intelligence development.
It will also include in-depth exploration into the basic laws and system structure of digital-intelligence empowerment of new quality productive forces, innovation models and element composition, model iteration strategies and practical paths, and how to cultivate and develop new quality productive forces in an intelligent society, so as to achieve theoretical, methodological, and practical innovation.
During the meeting, attending experts visited the exhibition of HIT's basic research achievements.
