At the invitation of Aarhus University in Denmark and Turin University of Technology in Italy, Vice President of HIT REN Nanqi, together with 6 members of his delegation, made a visit to European universities from September 6th to 15th.
On September 7th, Vice President REN Nanqi and his delegation visited Aalto University in Finland, and met with its Associate Vice President Murray Aria. After the meeting, the delegation visited the famous innovative workshops and design workshops on the campus. Both sides reached an intended agreement on the plan for introducing students’ innovative workshops to HIT.
On September 9th, Vice President REN Nanqi and his delegation went to visit University of Aarhus in Denmark. In the morning, the supervisor of Aarhus city Nils Heyeboge met with HIT delegation. The delegation paid a visit to the nanotechnology research center of Professor Fleming Besson Bach, who is Honorary Professor of HIT and Overseas Chief Academic Adviser for the School of Chemical Engineering. In the afternoon, HIT delegation attended the anniversary ceremony of Aarhus University, and presented gifts to the president. Arhus and Harbin are sister cities, and Aarhus University has been in a friendly relationship with HIT. This visit to Aarhus University was aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation and discussing how to undertake scientific research projects on the platform of Harbin-Aarhus surface and interface international center.
On September 12th, Vice President of HIT and his delegation visited Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy, and met with Jiliyanuo Knoch, Vice President of the university in charge of the Chinese affairs, and Xipaaoluo Manila, President of the University Fund. Through the talks, the two sides made a plan to start a strategic cooperation on the fields of construction and environment, including initiating student exchange, building Sino-Italian environmental technology research center and Sino-Italian architecture campus, etc.
On Sept.13, Vice President REN Nanqi and his delegation visited Politecnico Di Torino, where he held a talk with Macro Kiri, Vice President, and Mr. Chris, Director of International Office. In that meeting, they affirmed the achievements attained through cooperation by both sides in the past. HIT had the intention to admit a student from Politecnico Di Torino sponsored by Chinese Government Scholarship. At the same time, Politecnico Di Torino had the intention to offer a short-term internship program for some HIT students. After the meeting, the delegation visited Castello del Valentino where School of Architecture of Politecnico Di Torino is situated on and had a short meeting with the president of the First Architecture School and the Second Architecture School. Up to now, there are about 60 state scholarship doctoral students in Politecnico Di Torino.
On Sept.14th, Vice President REN Nanqi attended the opening ceremony of the 18th International Conference on Management Science and Engineering in Rome, Italy and delivered a speech on behalf of HIT. This conference was held jointly by three schools including School of Management in HIT, Universita degli Studi di ROMA“Tor Vergata” and Yisly school in Italy.
Vice President REN Nanqi’s trip to Europe this time initiates the relationship between Politecnico di Milano and HIT, strengthening cooperative relations between HIT and some other schools in Italy, which greatly contributes to the expansion of the HIT influence in Europe. Besides, it’s hopeful to introduce the innovative workshops which can provide HIT students with more opportunities for creativity and design.
