On the morning of Sep 26th, Assistant President XU Dianguo met with the Deutsch Professor Delegation from Free University of Berlin in Room 503 of the Administration Building.
XU Dianguo first introduced the history of HIT. Then, he said, “HIT has always paid much attention to the cooperation with universities in Europe. Until now, HIT has undertaken exchange programs with several German universities. And, HIT expects to establish friendly cooperation relationships with Free University of Berlin. The preliminary cooperation could be reached by hosting summer camps, building common labs, holding lectures by scholars, etc... The most important thing is to find the joint point among different disciplines in order to enlarge and deepen our cooperation.”
Professor Schwippert of Free University of Berlin said, “Since FUB was established in 1948, it has positioned itself as an internationalized university, emphasizing cooperation with elite universities all around the world. After 2008 FUB accepts Ph.D. candidates from HIT every year, and this visit aims at strengthening cooperation between FUB and HIT.” He hopes that the undergraduate exchange program could be started this year, with formation of concrete cooperation outline and commitment of specific cooperation contents.
The meeting was in the company of GU Jianzheng, Director of the International Student Center.
