From Oct.10th to Oct.15th, the delegation of HIT lead by President WANG Shuguo took part in “The Second Sino-Japanese University Exhibition and BBS" and “The Seventh Sino-Japanese University President Conference”, and then paid a visit to three Japanese universities, including Tokyo University, Osaka University and Chiba Institute of Technology.
On Oct.11th, at "The Second Sino-Japanese University Exhibition and BBS", President WANG Shuguo gave a speech in the theme of "Open and Cooperation: The Practice and Vision of HIT", which received considerable attention and great praise from other participants. There were over 200 representatives from more than 100 universities such as Tokyo University taking part in this activity. They had a series of discussions on issues of university and research exchange, collaboration between industry and school, talent exchange and the promotion of studying aboard.
On Oct. 13th, WANG Shuguo attended the “The Seventh Sino-Japanese University President Conference” in Kyoto, in which 16 presidents from either side participated. Participants conducted a discussion with regard to the improvement of teaching quality in universities and its internationalization.
During the visit, HIT delegation respectively met with the Minister of Faculty of Engineering in Tokyo University Kitamori Takehiko, Vice President of Osaka University Takahashi Akira and the President of Chiba Institute of Technology Motooka Seiichi. Furthermore, the delegation carried out exchanges and discussions with professionals in relevant fields to promote inter-school exchanges and cooperations. As well, they had a talk with HIT government-sponsored graduate students studying in Tokyo University.
The delegation included the Dean of School of Material Science and Engineering YUAN Shijian, the Dean of School of Computer Science and Technology WANG Yadong, the Dean of School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering ZHAO Jie, as well as LV Xiaowei and ZHENG Mingdong from International Cooperation Department.
