Vice President DING Xuemei Attends the Sino-UK Education Summit and Visit French Universities

27 October 2011, the 7th Sino-UK Education Summit was held in London. Chinese Minister of Education YUAN Guiren and UK Universities and Science Minister, David Willetts opened the Higher Education Roundtable that preceded the summit. Nineteen UK Vice Chancellors and twelve Chinese University Presidents attended the gathering. HIT Vice President DING Xuemei delivered a keynote speech during the opening ceremony.
 
Held on the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of Sino-UK diplomatic relations, this summit enriched the Sino-UK education ministerial consultation process, and furthered the implementation of the Sino-UK Educational Partnership Plan. In addition to introducing HIT and reporting on its progress towards globalization, DING Xuemei shared experiences in British educational collaboration, recommending future collaborative projects. She participated in the Study in China Exhibit, which was held at the Institute of Education, University of London.
 
Prior to the London Summit, DING Xuemei visited French universities: Ecole Spéciale de Mécanique et d'Électricité (ESME-Sudria, Mechanics and Electricity School),  Ecole Supérieure de Commerce (ESC-la Rochelle, Rochelle Business School), Université de La Rochelle, (University of La Rochelle), Ecole d’Ingénieurs en Génie des Systèmes Industriel (EIGSI-la Rochelle, Industrial Systems Engineering School) and made extensive contacts with various school leaders. In the course of the meeting, DING was interviewed by the French media.
