November 11, 2011, HIT Vice President DING Xuemei welcomed to HIT a Trinity Western University (TWU) Delegation, including TWU President Dr. Jonathan Raymond; Vice Provost and Legal Counsel Dr. Kevin Sawatsky, and Associate Provost Dr. Phil Laird. 
 
Ding Xuemei introduced the TWU Delegation to HIT’s founding principles and academic strengths. Vice President expressed that with attaching a great importance to international communication, HIT has set up cooperative relationships with many top universities the world over, e.g. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
 
HIT looks forward to collaborating with Trinity Western University renowned for its rigorous academic scholarship and strong faculty resources.  Dr. Raymond agreed with DING Xuemei acknowledging that it was a great honor to cooperate with HIT. Although it was his first visit to Harbin, he has already met many students in Canada with HIT Masters or PhD degrees.
 
Both sides signed Undergraduate Exchange and Study-Abroad Agreements while discussing in detail extending cooperative graduate programs as well.

Established in 1962, Trinity Western University, located 45 minutes from downtown Vancouver and 2.5 hours from Seattle is Canada’s largest independent, Christian liberal arts institution, with 42 undergraduate majors and 16 graduate programs.  TWU is the only university to have received the highest rating in Quality of Education for five consecutive years by The Globe and Mail, the most influential newspaper in Canada.
