December 2nd, 2011, HIT Vice President REN Nanqi extended a worm welcome to his counterpart Alan Shepard of Ryerson University, Canada.

REN pointed out HIT and Ryerson University had many things in common and the two universities had already achieved a remarkable progress in faculty exchanges and academic research communication.

Alan Shepard expressed that HIT boasted a strong strength in Engineering, particularly in the field of Mechanics, Wielding and Electric. He looked forward to cooperating with HIT in a wider field.

After the conversation, REN Nanqi and Alan Shepard as representatives of their own university signed the Agreement for Ryerson University joining the International Joint Research Contract for Persistent Toxic Substances (IJRC-PTS).

Ryerson University is a public research university located in downtown Toronto. The IJRC-PTS with REN Nanqi, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering serving as Director, is a renowned research institute in the field of persistent toxic research. Currently, the center has members of 15 universities and research institutes from 6 countries.
