First China-France Workshop on Future Computing

February 16th, the First China-France Workshop on Future Computing was convened at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). HIT Assistant to the President, XU Xiaofei, and LIMOS Professor, Alain Quilliot, co-chaired this joint initiative of HIT’s School of Computer Science and Technology (SCST) along with Blaise Pascal University's Informatics, Modeling and Systems Optimization Laboratory (LIMOS - Laboratoire d’Informatique, de Modélisation et d’Optimisation des Systèmes).
 
More than forty scholars from five Chinese and French universities addressed issuesof smart computing, IOT and sensor network, IOS and service computing, high dependability computing and performance evaluation, cloud computing and manufacturing, and information system optimization methods. Experts and scholars presented six invited lectures, twelve group reports, one symposium and a system demo related to the Smart and Dependable IOT and IOS theme.
                                                                                      
China and France reviewed the process of their cooperation regarding computer science and technology research and personnel training as well as further cooperation and implementation of the joint application for CNRS LIA.
 
SCST professor YANG Xiaozong and Blaise Pascal University professor HOU Kunming chaired the Programming Committee. Dr. Patrick Nedellec, Director of CNRS’ China office, and Mr. Arnaud, Director of the French Embassy’s Technology Department delivered invited speeches.
