February 14th, scientific and technological experts from across China gathered in Beijing at the People’s Great Hall for the annual National Science and Technology Award Ceremony. National Technological Invention Second Prize Awards were presented to Professor HAN Jiecai, Dean of Astronautics for his project; Professor DENG Zongquan, HIT Vice President, for his Key Technology of Moving System of Lunar Rover project, and Professor Huang Yudong, Dean of the Chemical Technology Institute, for his Key Technology and Engineering Practices of Fiber/Resin Infiltration and Synergy project.
National Science and Technology Progress Second Prizes were awarded to four project collaborations including Key Technology and Industrialization of L-lactic Acid Application, New Solid Waste Circular Utilization Technology and Highway Engineering Application, and Key Temporal Variability Technologies and Applications of Large Scale and Complex Steel Structures.
Nationwide in 2011, National Science and Technology Awards were presented to 374 projects including: 36 National Natural Science Awards, 55 National Technological Invention Awards, 283 National Scientific and Technological Progress Awards. Two experts received the Top National Scientific and Technological Award and eight experts received China’s International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
