December 1st, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) alumnus XIONG Yan received the 2011 Business Leader Award jointly sponsored by the 21st Century Business Herald, ifeng.com and China National Radio’s Voice of Economy program for his outstanding contribution to building Chinese equity markets and the low-carbon economy. XIONG is Vice President of HIT’s Alumni Association, Chairman of China Beijing Equity Exchange, as well as Chairman and CEO of Beijing Financial Assets Exchange.
The selection of the Business Leader Award recipients takes six months, during which time scholars and media chief editors consult authoritative market agency ratings and online voting.
Compared with traditional selection processes which rely upon candidates’ accomplishments as the sole criterion, the selection of Chinese Business Leader Awards emphasizes Chinese mainstream values. It takes into consideration the candidate’s global vision, social insight, industry perspective and Chinese values as evaluation criteria. Since 2009, the inaugural year of the award, 30 business leaders have received the award for making significant contributions to the dissemination of Chinese mainstream values, which have influenced hundreds of millions of people.
Ten industrial leaders, including LIU Mingkang, former chairman of China’s Banking Regulatory Commission, and LI Dongsheng, chairman of TCL Group, received awards.
