South Korean GIST Delegation Visits HIT

March 24th, Vice President REN Nanqi welcomed Dr. Yeongjun Kim, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology's (GIST) Vice President and his delegation. HIT and GIST established inter-university relations in 2010; since then HIT has sent more than ten students to GIST for graduate study.
 
REN reviewed with Dr. Kim Harbin Institute of Technology's (HIT) long history and current development recounting the exchanges between HIT and GIST. REN expressed his hope for broader cooperation with GIST and Dr. Kim echoed his agreement and updated REN regarding GIST's recent accomplishments. 
 
GIST was founded in 1993 in Gwangju, South Korea. It is a research-oriented university, with well-equipped laboratories and ranks first among Korean universities in the average number of faculty SCI publications. In 2010, GIST ranked tenth in the world in citations per faculty according to QS World University Rankings.
