Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) locates Changzhou Advanced Manufacturing Research Center and Changzhou New Materials Research Center in Liyang, Jiangsu Province, with its well-developed infrastructure, abundant natural resources, strong economy and advanced schools. The partnership combines Liyang’s advantages of location, natural resources, and industrial base; with HIT’s human resources, science and technology; and local businesses’ financial support for an exponential mutual benefit. HIT academician CAI Hegao and HIT professor LIN Wei will serve as technical consultants.
Jiangsu Guoqiang Zinc-Plating Industrial Co., Ltd. and Liyang Hong Xiang Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. each donated 150,000 RMB to HIT’s Education Development Foundation to expand labs and research in the School of Material Science and Engineering and the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology.
Jiangsu Guoqiang Zinc-Plating Industrial Co., Ltd., one of the largest manufacturers of galvanized pipes and ERW pipes in Eastern China specializes in producing and selling pipes and highway safety products. Liyang Hong Xiang Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. manufactures auto castings, drive boxes for export, and stainless steel castings for medium and large motor vehicle plants and export markets primarily in the USA, Italy, and Germany.
CUI Guolan, HIT EDF Vice President and Alumni Union Managing Vice President with Assistant to the President AN Shi, signed cooperation agreements April 12th with Liyang’s delegation of government officials and business representatives which included: Mayor SU Jianghua, Deputy Mayors LIU Min and WANG Long. Witnessing the momentous occasion were HIT EDF President WANG Shuquan and HIT Education Development Foundation Vice Chairman SUN Heyi.
This pact is another example of how HIT contributes to local economies via state-of-the-art research centers that make available advanced technology to local businesses that in turn improve their products, expand their businesses, increase employment, boost local economies, and enhance national renown.
