May 8th, HIT Vice President SUN Heyi welcomed Special Representative for U.S. Global Intergovernmental Affairs Reta Jo Lewis and her delegation to HIT.
President Sun introduced HIT to his guests and emphasized the importance of Ms. Lewis’ visit in fostering cooperation and exchange between HIT and U.S. institutions of higher education. He also indicated HIT’s hope for more opportunities to work with leading U.S. universities.
Ms. Lewis affirmed HIT’s academic quality and overall strength. She remarked that she would seek more opportunities for HIT to establish relationships with U.S. corporations. In addition, she mentioned that the U.S. was preparing to launch more programs for its students to study in China.
After the conversation, M.S. Lewis talked with HIT students, answering their questions on economic, cultural and environmental issues.
